Although professionals mostly administer stress questionnaires, there are some that you can take and score by yourself. Known as self scoring questionnaires, assessments or quizzes, they are meant to be used as an introduction to the issues of stress and the effects it has on the human body.
When self-scoring questionnaires are used as general guidelines they often help people understand what they are feeling or experiencing is due to the chronic stressors in their lives. They are then able to seek professional help if needed or learn to use stress management techniques such as:
- Deep breathing
- Guided imagery
- Yoga
- Meditation
- Progressive muscle relaxation
- Exercise
