Relieving stress couldn't be any less expensive than with free stress balls! You can either make your own with materials found around your house or order one online.

Making Your Own Stress Balls

Make stress balls in a matter of a few minutes with these homemade ideas.

Balloon Stress Ball

Take a balloon and slightly blow it up. Take a funnel and place it in the opening. Fill half to three-quarters of the balloon up with cornstarch or flour. Tie the balloon and enjoy your new stress ball!

Using Clay for Stress

If you're into crafts, you probably already have some clay lying around. Form a ball and start needing it to release tension from your day.

Make Your Own Play-Doh

You can easily make Play-Doh at home and use it just as you would clay. Combine:

  • Two cups of flour
  • Two cups of warm water
  • One cup of salt
  • Two tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • One tablespoon of cream of tartar

Stir it while heating it over low heat. Once the dough starts to ball in the center of the pan, remove it from the heat and let it cool. Once cool, kneed it until it's smooth. You can then use food coloring to make it whatever color you would like. Remember to keep your ball in an airtight container so it won't dry out.

Cloth Stress Ball

Choose a piece of fabric and cut two medium-sized circles. Sew the circles together leaving a small opening. Turn it inside out and place pillow stuffing, beads, or beans, etc. inside. Sew the opening shut.

Things to Keep in Mind When Ordering Online

Be patient when you order from a site, it may take up to eight weeks for you to receive it. In addition, many of the sites target business owners, so if you aren't, keep in mind that you may not receive one of their samples. Finally, beware of sites that lead you to believe that they are giving them away free but then try to rope you into some sort of promise to buy something. By keeping these things in mind, you'll be able to find relief from stress using your hands and a ball!
