Types of Work-Related Stress

Workplace stress comes in many forms:

  • Ethical issues: This type of stress can include lying or being lied to by a co-worker, boss or client, knowing pertinent good or bad news and not being allowed to share it or any type of legal situation.
  • Physical stress: While working overtime may be good for your pocketbook or in the eyes of your boss, it may also cause you massive amount of stress. This could result in physically being tired, unable to perform and generally lack motivation at times.
  • Multiple roles: Women who work full-time outside of the home face a tremendous amount of work-related stress as they have families to care for at home as well. Many times, the guilt they may feel from not being at home can cause stress on the job.
