- Comprehensive anger management courses often require pulling at-risk children out of class. Unfortunately, these same children are more likely to be academically and socially behind their classmates. Extensive time out of class may worsen these problems.
- Parents who are not supportive or aware of the techniques taught in school anger management programs may intentionally or unintentionally undermine their child's progress. To be fully effective, the parents must work along with the school.
- Upon promotion to middle school, students may confront conflicting views on anger management techniques by the teachers, students, and middle school administrators. Methods they learned during elementary school may no longer be appropriate. Certain techniques, such as seeking the help of a teacher when attempting to resolve a conflict with another student, may even be frowned upon in middle school. This can be very confusing for the child.

To ensure the success of your anger management program, you must:
